PERIYAR TIGER TRAIL

At last I achieved my most waiting trekking trip : Periyar tiger trail. When Vaccations were planned   ,  It is also decided to have a trip and reserved dates for  this awesom trekking and Jungle camp.

About Periyar Tiger Reserve

Periyar is one of Kerala's Premiar , Prestigious National Park and tiger reserve and biggest wild life sanctuary in kerala ( about 956Km2)

Periyar is home of about 40 tigers, 2000 elephants , numurous Bisons, Wild Boars, Leoperds, Sloth bears, Malabar Giant squerrel, Sambar etc....

We started trekking on 19th April 2010 at 10 AM from Thekaady and reached our base camp around 12.30... There was a permenant Tent for our Guides and Guard, sourrounded by elephant trench. Our guides made two more small tents for our stay...

It is not possible to stay there with out having trench because of Elephant density in the area.

This program (Periyar tiger trail ) is conducted by Ex. Poachers who turned to protectors of wild. They took care us very well 

We strated trekking after lunch at 3 o clock and had walked around 7 Kms through grass land and semi-green forests.. We saw lots of Wild boars, Bison groups and Nilgiri Langurs.. After a long walk we cambe back to  base camep at at 7pm. 

Second day We found some fresh foot prints of tigers while trekking for searching of elephants .. was sure he must be somewhere wathcing us..t 

Not very far, we found a bison it is killed by Tiger.( A Bison kill will be always a feast for tiger as wieght of Bison will be around 900-1300Kgs) A Tiger will feed an average of 50Kg of meat every day.

We were eagerly waiting to see  the T iger. But, a Tiger reserve like Thekkady , visibility of a camaflouged  tiger will be very  difficult . Tigers can easily hide in the thick vegitation.

WHY SHOULD I CREATE THIS BLOG

Well... the first question should ask a blogger himself, Why should I create blog?? For me , this blog was incactive for around 10 years, now I think , this is the way to show my small presence in the wast connected network over the world.... YESSSS....... I AM ALIVE HERE IN ONE CORNER OF THE WORLD........

Just think about myslf, If I would have not born here, were any changes in the world??? Before saying no , I need to learn more about butterfly effect and chaos theory.... If butterfly effect is true, even a presence of single virus or ameoba or any small particle has their own presence in this big world.... but the same time we should accept the truth, we , means as a single personality is nothing ... Now I just recollect few days before I read an Urdu poem, " A bucket of water from ocean will not able to make big waves... when it is the part of ocean, then only the real power works out"... ..Same way, If I m not part of the society, I am nothing, I can only make noises....
